Bedford Red Day 2011 at the Bedford YMCA

Keller Williams Realty

bedford area ymca-paitning the wallsLast week in Bedford, we had a KW Red Day (Renew, Energize and Donate). Red Day is an initiative dedicated to celebrating Keller Williams Realty’s year-round commitment to improving our local communities. Each year, tens of thousands of associates from across the United States and Canada participate in a wide range of projects, devoting their time to renewing and energizing aspects of the neighborhoods in which they serve.

For those of you who know about this, usually its the second Thursday in May. We did two Red Days. On second Thursday in May, we volunteered at Healing Strides just out side of Roanoke VA. Healing Strides is a horse farm where children with disabilities can come for therapy. The children get to ride horses and experience many new things in their lives.

June 2 was Red Day Bedford. Since we our market covers such a wide area and several cities and towns, we felt it was only natural to give backWendy Witt paiting a wall at the Bedford YMCA to the community who gives so much to us. Wendy Witt suggested we volunteer at the Bedford Area YMCA. One has to admit, the Bedford  Y is fantastic! They have stepped forward to become more active in the schools as public funding for sports programs, gym and other activities funding has been squeezed. The offer so many great programs to our community at a reasonable fee. Its a great place to work out, take a class, and visit with friends

For Bedford Red Day, we painted the aerobics room at the Bedford YMCA. The national YMCA has approved colors that were provided to us and we spent the day transforming the room from a drab color to approved colors to invoke energy! Around 10 am, we were hard at work, rolling, cutting in, and transforming it all. We cranked up the music, told some jokes, and had a great time.

As an added benefit, we were treated to lunch by 309 Wine. Bedford’s newest upscale restaurant.  We are so grateful for their support and for the agents who dropped what they were doing that day and came out to support the Bedford YMCA.
